Ray Negron arrived from Yankee Stadium and entered the doorway of the T M Baseball and Softball Training Academy on Seabury Avenue in the Bronx. The special consultant to owners of the New York Yankees who also reaches out to the community saw something special and he paused to take a look.

The instructors were under the nets drilling many of the student-athletes who attend the academy to improve their game. Moments later and after another long day of community outreach and meetings at the stadium, Negron went under the nets and it was all about baseball. life as a dad and how to succeed.

Rubenstein PR staged a Dada-esque, surrealistic performance event to announce the debut of IMPACT, a new sports talk radio show on the ESPN network, with a unique flourish.

To begin, the event was done in Patsy's Italian restaurant, the former NYC home of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Sinatra, whose private table was on the second floor, had been the mentor of Ray Negron, the key anchor of the IMPACT Talk Sports Radio Show.

On June 29, 1973, in the first year of the George Steinbrenner era, the Yankees were in their last season of the original Yankee Stadium. Only 9,611 people attended the game that afternoon, but Ray Negron was there. Negron, a 17-year-old from Queens, was caught spray-painting the outside of the stadium by Steinbrenner.

On the last day of his junior year of high school, in 1973, Ray Negron put on a button-down shirt, so his mother wouldn’t suspect that he was skipping class, and rode the subway to Yankee Stadium. He took the shirt off, bought a burger at McDonald’s, and started spray-painting buildings with a few friends. “What you waiting for?” one of them asked. “Tag the goddam stadium.” Negron took a can of white paint, walked up to a wall on the third-base line, and traced an “N” and a “Y.”
